SAVEHRA

Overnight haircare from India. Modal pillowcases, for the eight hours your routine ignores.

What we make

One thing, made properly: a modal pillowcase, woven as satin, for the surface hair spends eight hours against.

Modal is regenerated cellulose from beech pulp — the high wet modulus kind, engineered to hold its strength and shape through washing, which ordinary viscose does not. Woven as satin, the yarn floats along the surface instead of crossing at every thread.

Why a pillowcase is a haircare product

A routine ends at the bathroom door. The eight hours after it are spent dragging hair across whatever the bed is made of.

Cotton is spun staple fibre, woven plain: micro-rough in every direction, with a crossing point at every thread, and absorbent by design. A satin weave puts the yarn on the surface and takes most of those crossing points away. That difference in friction is the entire argument, and it is the only one we make.

What we will not claim

This category runs on a fabricated citation. A “2018 study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology” is quoted across dozens of brands to support claims about hydration and breakage. It does not exist in the indexed literature.

So: no percentages. No claims that a pillowcase treats acne, prevents wrinkles or reduces hair fall — those are therapeutic claims about an unlicensed article, and there is no evidence behind them. No “modal does not absorb moisture” either, because its moisture regain is higher than cotton’s and saying otherwise is disprovable from a textbook. And we will never call modal silk.

What is left is friction, weave, fibre and fit. It is less than our competitors claim and all of it is true.
